Halsted Haus is a Victorian
three-story home built in 1894. There are porches
on the first and second floors so you can get into a
good book or nap in a rocking chair. The main
house has central air and heat on first and second
floors. Exquisite oak antiques fill each room, and each
bedroom has high back antique beds. There is a
television in the downstairs hallway, the parlor, and
the upstairs hallway, all are equipped with Dish Network®.
-
The
first floor of the house features a master bedroom
with a full-sized bed, large full bathroom with
shower/tub combination, kitchen, dining room, entry
room, study, huge downstairs hallway with high
ceilings and archway and a parlor.
-
A
beautiful winding staircase takes you to the second
floor where you will find the upstairs hallway with
sitting area, two bedrooms with full-sized beds, and
a bedroom with a 3/4 bed. The upstairs full bathroom
at the end of the hall has a large shower.
-
The
third floor of the house has a unique collection of
antique sewing machines and other sewing
collectables.
The garage apartment is just
steps away from the main house. The apartment has
a full-sized bed, bathroom with tub only, and a
kitchenette. Television and Dish Network®
are also available. It's quite cozy and a great
place to kick back and relax.
Our old MK&T
railroad depot is also near the house and can be shown
upon request. With the iron bars on its ticket
windows and railroad memorabilia, it is a real treat to
see.
