Spring 2001 brought us a nice
surprise!!
We planted some rose bushes (A)
amongst the honey suckle on the large arch that covers
the biofilters. For the last three years, the two red
bushes would put on about half a dozen blooms and they would
smell wonderful but the white rose bush would just tease
us. It would put on 30-40 buds but the flowers never
opened. Well we were in for a real show this spring,
as you can see. The white rose bush started out just like it normally would every spring and
we all knew that the buds were going to die before they ever
opened. Well if I were to guess this one plant must have
had at least 100 blossoms!!
Our pond still has a way to go
before it's as beautiful as it should be, but here is a nice
shot (B) of the honeysuckle, the
roses and the waterfall.
We've added some 'extras' to the
yard (C), (D) to our garden
area. My little brother moved last year and was going to
leave two great big planter urns because they were too heavy for
him to move. Well lucky for us we were there when he
decided this and we had no problem moving them into our van and
back to La Grange, TX
My birthday fell on Thanksgiving
last year and my family bought be a beautiful Arch to go over my
sidewalk that leads the the area we park our van. Since
this picture (E) I've planted a new
rose bush, a Passion Vine, and two other climbing, flowering
vines on it.
I thought I would also share you
the beautiful hanging begonia, it's been in full bloom for a
month and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
You would think that we have
enough going on in our yard, but it seems the more we do, the
more our imagination takes over and the more ideas we come up
with. Next is should be a small gazebo!!
Check out our "Latest
Addition" to the yard.
